State Police are investigating a crash that killed two people at I-70 and Stadium Dr in Columbia, MO on August 5th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer headed westbound on I-70 is said to have struck a vehicle for unclear reasons before crossing a median into eastbound lanes. There, reports say the truck collided head-on with a U-Haul truck, causing the vehicle to catch fire. Authorities say both occupants of the U-Haul truck were fatally injured in the crash while several others were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Additional information was not available.
