What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a woman at US Hwy 87 in Chouteau County, MT on January 24th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9:45 a.m. According to investigators, an Oldsmobile traveling southbound on US 87 collided with a semi-truck. Reports allege the truck was turning right onto Buck Bridge Rd and entered into a left-turn lane in order to make the turn. Reports further allege the truck entered into the left lane to avoid another vehicle that was stopped at a stop sign. The crash is said to have left a 29-year-old occupant of the vehicle seriously injured. She was hospitalized and later died from her injuries on January 30th, reports say. The drive rod the Oldsmobile and a second 24-year-old passenger were both hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. The truck operator was allegedly uninjured.
