What Happened

Nebraska State Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at I-80 in Scottsbluff, NE on June 18th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:15 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Caravan was headed westbound when it was struck in the rear by a semi-truck. The collision caused the Dodge to overturn and a front seat passenger, identified as 55-year-old Haroldene Rodriguez, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 43-year-old Leopoldo Rodriguez and two child passengers were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck, identified as 30-year-old Atinder Singh, was not injured and arrested on motor vehicle homicide and careless driving charges.
