Authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at Hwy 2 in Custer County, NE on February 3rd, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 10:30 a.m. According to investigators, a Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chevrolet Silverado towing a trailer were both involved in a collision. Reports allege the Chevrolet crossed into an eastbound lane of travel while attempting to avoid colliding with a stopped vehicle ahead. One in the eastbound lane, reports say the Silverado collided with an eastbound Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by Randy Schmidt. Schmit and a passenger were both hospitalized for treatment of undisclosed injuries. The other driver and passenger allegedly refused hospitalization. Additional information was not available.
