What Happened

Cass County Sheriff's office authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at Hwy 1 in Cass County, NE on October 5th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6 a.m. According to investigators, a semi-truck was northbound attempting to back into a parking lot. As it did so, police say a southbound Pontiac Grand Prix collided with the truck under unclear circumstances. Following the collision, police say a southbound Ford Escort both other vehicles. Police say the driver of the Pontiac, 35-year-old Wessly Bogenreif and drive row the Ford, 67-year-old Murray Petersen, were hospitalized with serious injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
