What Happened

Nevada State Police have information on a crash that killed a driver at US 50 near Austin, NV on July 29th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4:25 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer was allegedly traveling at a speed investigators say was unsafe to take a curve in the road before it crossed into opposite lanes of travel. It then collided with a pickup truck operated by 22-year-old Cole Thayer. Thayer suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The truck driver was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were said to be non-life-threatening. Additional information was not available.
