What Happened

State Police are investigating a collision that killed a pedestrian at I-80 in West Wendover, NV on August 21st, 2023.  Authorities believe the incident happened around 3:50 a.m. Investigators believe a semi-truck was turning left from Wendover Blvd before staking a pedestrian said to have been in a crosswalk at the time. The pedestrian, a 26-year-old male who was not publicly identified, was dragged along by the truck for a short distance before the truck allegedly left the scene. He suffered fatal injuries in the incident. The alleged driver was identified as 43-year-old Shane Josh Crochet, who was located by and arrested by authorities after the collision.
