What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-10 in Luna County, NM on July 21st, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11 p.m. An SUV reportedly suffered a tire blowout causing it to lose control and be struck by a semi-truck. The semi-truck overturned and was spread across traffic lanes when it was struck by two other approaching tractor trailers. The driver of the overturned semi-truck, 37-year-old Daniel Quintana, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The other drivers involved were not injured.
