What Happened

New Mexico State Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-25 near Lemitar, NM on July 17th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 7:45 p.m. According to investigators, 33-year-old Jesus A. Prospero-Vazquez was headed northbound when it lost control for unknown reasons and veered into a dirt median. It then veered across the northbound lanes and overturned, ejecting Prospero-Vazquez from the vehicle and leaving him with fatal injuries. Authorities expressed belief that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
