New Mexico State Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at Hwy 26 in Luna County, NM on July 2nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1o p.m. According to investigators,  a semi-truck is said to have collided with the rear of a water tanker truck under unclear circumstances. Following the collision, the semi-truck veered into and collided head-on with an SUV. A passenger in the SUV, identified as 77-year-old Kay Chandler, was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were fatal. The driver of the SUV and the driver of the SUV were hospitalized for treatment. Additional information was not available.
