New Mexico State Police are investigating a crash that killed a person at US Hwy 54 in Quay County, NM on February 18th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8 p.m. A westbound tractor-trailer was reportedly attempting to pass another truck when it collided head-on with a U-Haul box van. The U-Haul driver was identified as 53-year0old Stephanie Chasar, who died at the scene. A 26-year-old passenger was hospitalized in critical condition.
