What Happened

State Police are investigating a collision at a work zone that killed a man on the NYS Thruway in Genesee County, NY on June 7th, 2023. Investigators believe a dump truck reversing in the work zone struck 45-year-old Brett K. Decker. They say Decker was working as a site inspector and was in or near a lane occupied by the dump truck when he was struck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
