What Happened

New York State Police are investigating a collision that killed two men at East 61st St in Manhattan, NY on December 24th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:20 a.m. A Baldor food delivery truck is said to have veered from the road onto the sidewalk and hit a fire hydrant before striking a bicyclist and a pedestrian. The cyclist, identified as 37-year-old Taurino Rosendo Morales and the pedestrian, 47-year-old Delfino Eduardo Maceda, were both hospitalized with injuries they later died from as a result. A passenger in the truck, age 32, was also hospitalized with minor injuries. The 66-year-old driver remained at the scene for questioning.
