North Carolina Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that injured five people at US 158 in Kitty Hawk, NC on July 1st, 2021. Police say the incident involved tanker truck entering an intersection at a high rate of speed and running a red light. It then struck a car and overturned, sliding into southbound travel lanes. Five additional vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, were also struck in the process. Five people were hospitalized serious injuries.
