Polk County Sheriff's Office authorities are investigating a crash that injured five people were injured five people at Howard Gap Rd in Polk County, NC on February 16th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4:15 p.m. A Polk County School bus with 20 students aboard is said to have veered from the road down an embankment before overturning onto its side. Five of the 20 students were hospitalized with what are believed to be minor injuries. The driver was charged with failing to maintain lane control.
