North Carolina Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at I-40 in Burke County, NC on September 9th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. A passenger vehicle headed westbound on I-40 reportedly veered from the road for unknown reasons and crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer parked in the shoulder.
