What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a woman at Hwy 23 in New Town, ND on April 18th, 2022. They say the incident involved a pickup operated by an 80-year-old Plaza woman turning eastbound on Hwy 23 as a semi-truck carrying diesel fuel was headed west. Investigators say the semi-truck attempted to avoid the collision prior to the vehicles crashing and landing into a ditch. The woman in the pickup truck died at the scene. Police say the roads were ice and snow covered at the time of the crash and fog created limited driving visibility.
