What Happened

Ohio State Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a woman at I-475 in Sylvania Twp, OH on July 30th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Officials say a Jeep Compass was reportedly stopped in a left travel lane with mechanical issued before it was struck by a tractor-trailer under unclear circumstances. Investigator say 32-year-old Byrona Blacksten was standing near the disabled vehicle at the time of the collision and both she and the vehicle were struck. Blacksten was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, identified as 59-year-old Mark Morgan, was reportedly uninjured. Additional information was not immediately available.
