What Happened

Ohio State Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at Route 83 and West Smith Rd in Medina County, OH on July 29th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 3:12 p.m. A Hyundai Sonata reportedly failed to yield the right of way to a semi-truck when it was struck on the passenger side by the truck. The driver of the Hyundai, 80-year-old Carole Metzger was hospitalized with serious injuries. Two passengers, 79-year-old Enid Liscio and 8-year-old Elaine Klepek, were both pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
