What Happened

Toledo Police are investigating a crash that killed a man at I-475 in Toledo, OH on July 7th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 4:54 p.m. 67-year-old Jeffrey Freyer was headed east on the westbound shoulder after his vehicle became disabled. A truck operated by 56-year-old Michael Bowman veered into the westbound shoulder and struck Freyer. Freyer was taken to an area hospital and was pronounced dead from his injuries. Bowman was not injured. No initial charges have been filed.
