What Happened

Ohio State Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-71 in Brunswick Hills, OH on June 22nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:40 a.m. According to investigators, a Honda Accord was allegedly stopped in a shoulder near the northbound lanes of the interstate for unknown reasons. While stopped, the vehicle was struck by a box truck followed by a second box truck under unclear circumstances.  The driver of the Honda, identified as 74-year-old Joan Erb. Erb suffered fatal injuries in the collision while the two box truck operators were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
