What Happened

Ohio State Highway Patrol Officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at State Route 528 in Middlefield, OH on June 15th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford Escape operated by 83-year-old Mary Ann Datko was struck by a tractor-trailer at the intersection with Shedd Rd. Police say the vehicle had previously stopped at the stop sign before proceeding into the intersection. Datko suffered fatal injuries at the scene while her 59-year-old passenger, Martha Hershbeger, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The truck driver, Ravinder Singh, was not injured.
