What Happened

Ohio State Highway Patrol officials are investigating a collision that killed a person at State Route 2 and Veler Rd in Lucas County, OH on August 4th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:30 a.m. A 2018 Chevrolet Silverado was headed westbound on Route 2 when it reportedly went left of center. It then collided head-on with an eastbound tractor-trailer operated by 53-year-old Slawomir Milczek. The driver of the Silverado was not able to escape the truck after it caught fire in the collision and suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Milczek was not injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
