What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at OK-6 and OK-152 near Elk City, OK on September 12th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 11:01 p.m. Investigators believe a semi-truck headed westbound is alleged to have failed to stop for a stop sign before colliding with a southbound Ford Crown Victoria. Authoriries say the driver of the Ford, identified as 54-year-old Christopher L. Rains, was fatally injured. The truck operator, identified as 53-year-old Jesus Herrera, was allegedly uninjured and allegedly was arrested on potential manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol charges.
