What Happened

Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials are investigating a collision that killed a man at 116th St North in Sperry, OK on November 6th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11 a.m. A Volvo S80 operated by 91-year-old Leo Angelo Mitchell was reportedly pulling onto southbound 116th after exiting a private driveway when it was struck by a westbound dump truck. Mitchell was hospitalized with injuries he died from two days later. The other driver was not injured.
