What Happened

Oklahoma State Police have identified the person killed in a crash on I-35 near Ardmore, OK on February 3rd, 2022. They say the incident happened around 4:30 p.m. A tractor-trailer operated by 31-year-old Samuel Jim was traveling northbound on what investigators say was an ice covered road when it lost control and veered from the road. The vehicle overturned and Jim, who investigators allege was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected and pinned under the vehicle for up to two hours. He suffered fatal injuries at the scene as a result. A passenger in the vehicle was hospitalized with an arm injury.
