What Happened

Authorities are investigating a collision that injured a teen at South and Academy Ave in Newkirk, OK on August 21st, 2023. Officials say a call was received about the incident around 12:14 p.m. According to police, a 16-year-old Newkirk High School student was involved in a collision with an 18-wheeler at the scene. It was stated that witnesses  saw the teen in a crosswalk when she was struck by the truck under unconfirmed circumstances. The teen was taken to an area hospital with injuries believed to be very serious in nature. Officials did not have any additional information available.
