What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed three people at US Hwy 20 in Harney County, OR on July 11th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5 p.m. According to investigators, an eastbound tractor-trailer operated by 57-year-old Darrell Thew is alleged to have crossed into westbound lanes for unknown reasons before colliding with a second tractor-trailer. The collision left Thew and the other driver, identified as 57-year-old Beth McKinnon, with fatal injuries at the sene. Also killed was 62-year-old James McKinnon. Police did not have additional information available to disclose.
