Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a person at Hwy 97 in Klamath County, OR on February 29th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 10:02 a.m. According to investigators, a semi-truck headed southbound is said to have lost control for unclear reasons before becoming jackknifed. The vehicle is said to have traveled into the path of an approaching northbound Honda Pilot, the collision leaving the driver of the Honda fatally injured at the scene. Police identified the driver as 37-year-old Elisa Adair Darrens. A 23-year-old pregnant passenger, identified as Daviana Marie Trussell, was hospitalized with serious injuries. Her unborn child suffered fatal injuries in the crash while the truck operated, identified as 34-year-old Desiree Danielle Johnson, suffered minor injuries.
