What Happened

Oregon State Police are investigating an incident that killed a man at I-84 in Baker City, OR on September 6th, 2021. Police say it happened around 6:40 p.m. A tractor-trailer operated by 38-year-old Hassan Ibrahim was headed west on I-84 when a dual set of tires detached from the trailer and bounced across a center median into eastbound lanes. The tires went airborne before landing through the windshield of an eastbound semi-truck operated by 50-year-old James Green. Green was killed on impact. Police say Ibrahim stopped briefly to chain up the damaged axle before leaving the scene. Police did late locate Ibrahim, however no charges have yet been filed.
