State Police are investigating a crash that injured at least 8 people at I-78 in Hamburg, PA on July 29th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 5:20 p.m. Initial reports say a tractor-trailer making a lane merge struck a passenger car and overcorrected, crashing into a center median barrier. The trailer went airborne and a second, third and fourth tractor-trailer collided as debris from the collision affected their travel. Police say that as many as 8 people were hospitalized with injuries that were considered to be non-life-threatening. Additional information was not yet available.
