What Happened

South Carolina Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at State Route 418 and Huff Creek Dr in Greenville, SC on March 30th, 2022. Officials say the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. According to their investigation, a pickup truck was traveling with a utility trailer that was towing an outdoor storage shed when the shed hit a guardrail. This caused the shed to detach from the trailer and was blocking oncoming traffic when it was hit head-on by an approaching tractor trailer operated by 74-year-old Berly Gibbs Zeigler. Ziegler suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Additional information was not immediately available.
