What Happened

South Carolina Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at Hwy 11 in Pickens County, SC on May 3rd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3:27 p.m. Police say a mail truck was headed southbound at a speed allegedly too fast for the conditions of the road before it was struck by dump truck. The impact caused the truck to veer from the road into a ditch. The driver of the mail truck, identified as 41-year-old Mark Douglas Hunt Jr, suffered fatal injuries.
