What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-26 in Orangeburg County, SC on June 13th, 2022. Officials are saying it happened around 2:15 a.m. According to initial investigation, a Jeep Patriot was reportedly stopped for unknown reasons in a travel lane. Reports further indicate the vehicle allegedly did not have active lighting at the time of the collision involving the vehicle being struck from the rear by a tractor-trailer. The driver of the SUV died at the scene. The truck driver was not injured and no other injuries were reported.
