What Happened

South Dakota Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at 202nd Ave and Hwy 37 in Huron, SD on February 8th, 2022. Police say the incident allegedly happened when a pickup failed to stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection and struck a Pontiac Grand Prix headed southbound. The Pontiac is said to have been pushed into a northbound lane before it was struck in the rear by a Chevrolet Avalanche. A 20-year-old male passenger in the Pontiac died at the scene. The female driver of the Pontiac was hospitalized with serious injuries. The other two drivers were treated for minor injuries. Additional information was not available.
