What Happened

Area authorities identified the two people injured in a crash at 300th St in Lesterville, SD on February 17th, 2022. Officials say the incident happened around 9:29 a.m. A dump truck loaded full of gravel is said to have crossed a centerline and lost control while attempting to correct back onto the roadway. The truck, operated by 21-year-old Alfonso Erickson, veered from the road into a ditch and overturned. Erickson and a passenger, 49-year-old William Taggart, suffered minor injuries and were both hospitalized. Additional information was not immediately available.
