What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at State Route 437 in Shelbyville, TN on March 8th, 2025. Police say the incident happened around 1:15 p.m. According to investigators, a dump truck headed southbound is alleged to have crossed a center line before colliding head-on with a second dump truck. Authorities say the impact caused the second truck, operated by 46-year-old Dante Jose Guel, to overturned and catch fire, leaving Guel fatally injured. The other driver, identified as 24-year-old Marcus Johnson, was also fatally injured. Additional information was not available.
