What Happened

Tennessee Highway Patrol officials have confirmed the name of the person killed in a collision at Nolensville Pike in Nashville, TN on November 12th, 2021. Police say the incident involved a motorcycle and garbage truck. The motorcycle was taking a northbound curve towards Higgins Street as a garbage truck was attempting a left turn. The bike is said to have attempted to brake but lost control while doing so and ended up colliding with the rear of the truck, traveling underneath. The cyclist, 20-year-old Taylor Sherwood, was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and later died. Police say that initial reports suggest that the crash may have occurred due to the garbage truck's failure to yield.
