What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at Wallisville Rd in Harris County, TX on November 30th, 2021. Police say the incident happened 7:30 p.m. A Toyota C-HR operated by 61-year-old Kevin Bowman was said to have been headed westbound on Wallisville Rd. 36-year-old Abshir Mohamed Muse was crossed the road from south to north when he was struck by a the vehicle. Investigators say the vehicle was in the process of making a lane change or swerving to avoid the collision but unable to do so. Muse was transported to an area hospital and died form his injuries. Police say a blood draw confirmed that Bowman may have been intoxicated at the time of the collision and placed him under arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
