Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 79 in Freestone County, TX on January 18th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:50 p.m. A Dodge Ram 3500 towing a trailer operated by 39-year-old Adam Francis was headed northeast and a tractor-trailer operated by a 55-year-old Grapeland man was headed northeast attempting to make a left turn onto a private drive. Investigators say the Dodge failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer, causing fatal injuries to Francis. The other driver was not injured.
