What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-25 near Truth or Consequences, NM on July 22nd, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 10:50 p.m. According to investigators, a semi-truck headed northbound is alleged to have collided with an elk in the roadway. This is said to have caused the truck to crash through a median and enter into southbound lanes before colliding head-on with a second truck. Both trucks caught fire and police say the driver of the second truck, identified as Adrian Alejandro Cruz, was fatally injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
