Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at RM 2909 in Van Zandt County, TX on March 7th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:15 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Tacoma operated by 48-year-old Aimee Dietzel Matthews was headed southbound on RM 2909 when it veered from the road into a barrow ditch after a moment of distraction. The vehicle went over a culvert and went airborne before landing and rolling to the side. The crash left a 16-year-old passenger with minor injuries and Matthews more serious injuries. Officers recommended and/or issued a Failure to Drive in Single Lane charge.
