What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that killed a driver at FM 901 and Sandusky Rd in Grayson, TX on August 18th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:40 p.m. They say a Ford F-150 operated by 66-year-old Alan Ray Elk was traveling northbound on FM 901 at an unsafe speed in rainy conditions when it lost hydroplaned. From there, the truck is said to have veered down a dirt embankment where it eventually collided with a large tree. Elk suffered fatal injuries from the crash. Responding officers noted the presence of empty beer cans inside the truck and listed possible intoxication as a factor in the crash.
