What Happened

Police are investigating a crash that killed one person at County Rd 1500 in Lubbock, TX on May 3rd, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9:24 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-250 headed northbound on County Rd 1500 is alleged to have left the roadway for unclear reasons. While attempting to return to the road, repros say the vehicle overcorrected and instead crossed over into a ditch. There, police say the vehicle spin and went into a skid, a front tire detaching from the vehicle and causing it to overturn. The driver, identified as 50-year-old Alana Felton, was ejected from the vehicle in the impact and fatally injured. There were no other reported vehicles or injuries and authorities had no additional information available.
