What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials have information on a crash that killed a driver at State Hwy 302 in Winkler County, TX on January 31st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 1:33 p.m. According to investigators, a Mack truck operated by 37-year-old Alex Soto Martinez Jr was headed eastbound on Hwy 302 as it approached stopped traffic. The truck is said to have veered into an eastbound lane in order to avoid rear ending another vehicle and sideswiped a Kenworth truck operated by 40-year-old Moran Camunez Servando. Martinez suffered fatal injuries in the collision while Servando is said to not have been injured. Police believe both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Additional details were not available.
