What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a person at FM 1462 in Alvin, TX on January 8th, 2022. Police are saying it happened around 6:11 p.m. A Hyundai Sonata operated by 57-year-old Martha Bazaldua was reportedly slowing for a vehicle ahead that was waiting to turn into a private drive when it was rear ended by a Chevrolet C2500. The impact caused fatal injuries to a front seat passenger, identified as 51-year-old Alfonso Lucio Hernandez. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 54-year-old Clayton Ziegler, was not injured. Reports show a charge of Intoxication Manslaughter was recommended and/or issued for Ziegler.
