What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a drowning incident that killed a mother and child at Broadway St in Galveston, TX on May 4th, 2022. Investigators say it happened around 1:30 a.m. at Rodeway Inn. Initial reports reveal 33-year-old Alissa Hunter and her child were found unresponsive in a pool at the hotel. Guests of the hotel reportedly attempted to perform CPR on both before they were taken to an area hospital and later pronounced deceased. The pair had allegedly been swimming with a man and young boy . Police say the pool had a closing time of 10 p.m. but that the gate was not locked and were unable to provide additional information
