What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a possible instance of street racing that led to a fatality at Research Plaza and South New Braunfels Ave in San Antonio, TX on May 11th, 2022. Officials say it happened around 10 p.m. According to initial investigation, a vehicle that is believed to have possibly been street racing and traveling at a high rate of speed, struck a curb and crashed into a tree before veering upside down into a creek. The deceased bodies of a man and woman were found in the vehicle once police were able to retrieve it from the creek. They were later identified as 21-year-old Jaime Perez and 19-year-old Altinay Euridisse Valdez. Police were not yet sure who was driving the vehicle. Additional information was not immediately available.
