What Happened

Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Farm-to-Market Road 1862 in Jackson County, TX, on September 22, 2024, at approximately 8:14 p.m. A 2017 Nissan Altima traveling northeast collided head-on with a 2010 Dodge Dakota traveling southwest. The driver of the Nissan, identified as 22-year-old Jimmie Piwonka, and the driver of the Dodge, identified as 40-year-old Amalia Palomares Rodriguez, both sustained fatal injuries.
