What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 14 in Wood County, TX on August 3rd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:55 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 3500 operated by a 54-year-old driver was eastbound on FM 49 prior to stopping at the intersection with FM 14. Authorities allege the vehicle failed to yield right of way when proceeding into the intersection, traveling into the path of an approaching Honda CR-V operated by 28-year-old Amanda Cook. The two vehicles collided and Cook suffered injuries believed to be serious in nature, according to officials. Police say the occupants of the Dodge were not injured and sources indicated a Failure to Yield Row at Stop Sign charge was recommended and/or issued.
